From the Principal

Principal Miller

Summer time is officially here...soon enough the weather will catch up too!

Our CCS summer team is excited to get started on our projects and ideas for next year! We never feel that our goal to develop a life-long love for learning in each CCS student is “complete.” We are always working together as a team to improve upon what we have already accomplished and to keep the program energized, original, and top-notch for CCS kids! Our office is open most of the summer, so please drop by and say hi if you’re in the neighborhood.

Thank you for making us your school of choice this year! It has been such a wonderful year at CCS. What a blast we have had with some of our new activities, such as our school wide CCS CLUE game: “The Case of the Missing Eagle”, bringing our campus together for Today in History celebrations, the Family Book Exchange, Go Green Night, the Virtuous Voyage, Game Night & Silent Auction, and more!  As always we have also loved traditions like Carrabba’s Night, the Science Fair, Art Fair, Scholastic Book Fair/Ice Cream Social, Poetry Night, Field Day, Spelling Bees, the return of Magic School Bus Night and more! It has been wonderful to see so many smiling faces at these events and this year’s tremendous attendance has awed and inspired me.

A special thank you to our 2009-2010 CAP volunteers – Challenge Academy Parents. This group of dedicated CCS parents joined us in October for an Academy where they learned about many of our intervention strategies. Then, they worked with small groups of students in mastering these concepts donating over an hour each week to volunteering. This was the first year of CAPs and I greatly appreciated the delightful group of parents that stepped up to this challenge and helped make the program a successful reality. We need more CAPs, so please let me know if you would like to get involved in this program next year! You can sign up by joining us for the first 2010-2011 SAC meeting.

Thank you CCS families & faculty for the overwhelming generosity that you have shown this year with your time, consideration, donations, efforts, kindnesses, and assistance. Please join us for Meet the Teacher Night August 9th to check out our new & improved playground shades made possible by the pulling together of our CCS community.

Thank you for your support,
Principal Wendy Miller
